What is Minimal Access Surgery?
Minimal Access (Laparoscopic) Surgery (MAS) : also called as Key-Hole surgery is done under anaesthesia through small holes in your body. A telescope is inserted through the body which acts as the eye of the surgeon.
The surgeon and his/her team (anaesthetist, assisting surgeon, nurses) operates by looking at the image on more than one high resolution TV monitors and by using thin long instruments through small holes placed in the body.
